Restoring a Dissolved Company

Whether you have dissolved or closed a company down intentionally or by mistake and need it back company restoration is the process by which a dissolved (struck off) company is restored to the register held at companies house. Based on Companies House Act 2006 you can do one of two things to restore a company depending on the circumstances in which the company was dissolved and why you are looking to restore it.

  1. Administrative Restoration – usually used where a company was accidently struck off due to a failure to file annual returns.
  2. Court Order Restoration – Where a director or shareholder has applied to have a company struck off but later requires the company to recover assets, funds in bank accounts or contract obligations etc an application to the court will be required.
